Lack of depth up top

The Reds need to sign a forward, there’s no two ways about it.

We can’t compete for the Premier League and Champions League with just four players covering the front three.

Jürgen Klopp has made it clear he isn’t satisfied with his options.

Although he says otherwise, actions speak louder than words.

The boss may claim he’s happy with his depth but at the weekend when we needed a goal he brought on a left back not a forward.

Roberto Firmino injury update

Last weekend the Reds faced Chelsea at Anfield.

Before halftime the boss was forced to withdraw our number nine.

Bobby appeared to have tweaked his hamstring, prompting Diogo Jota’s introduction to the clash.

We’ve now had a pretty vague Roberto Firmino injury update issued.

Ian Doyle at the Liverpool ECHO believes the issue should keep him out for a couple of weeks whilst Paul Joyce has said the injury isn’t serious.

Twitter reaction

Fans are suspicious to say the least.

Plenty of Kopites are harking back to the announcement in January that Joel Matip was out for the season, the news coming after two panic signings were made on deadline day.

As a result some fans believe the injury could be more serious than we’re being told.
