Liverpool have earned a reputation for being savvy in the transfer market. This reputation is by and large down to one man. Kopites couldn’t be prouder of our sporting director. As a result this morning’s news has come as a huge shock. Twitter has reacted to news that Michael Edwards could leave Liverpool next year.
In 2016 Liverpool appointed Michael Edwards as sporting director.
The guru had joined the Reds from Spurs in 2011 and steadily rose through the ranks behind the scenes.
Since taking the main job he has transformed the way Liverpool do business.
Under Michael Edwards’ stewardship we’ve seen incredible successes in the transfer market.
The sporting director is renowned for raking in hoards of cash when selling fringe players whilst also bringing in diamonds in the rough for bargain fees.
Since his appointment we’ve seen such coups as the signings of Andy Robertson and Mo Salah.
Michael Edwards could leave Liverpool
This morning news broke which has devastated Liverpool fans.
The Athletic has reported that Michael Edwards could leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
The sporting director’s contract is up next summer and he has allegedly informed the club of his intention to leave.
His successor appears to be Julian Ward, a backroom team member who was made assistant sporting director last December.
Ward has apparently become more prominent in the club’s transfer dealings and is supposedly being groomed for the role should Edwards leave.

The report has sent Twitter into meltdown with Kopites worried about life after Edwards.
