Michael Edwards bio
Reds sporting director Michael Edwards worked hard to get where he is.
The transfer guru played professionally for Peterborough United before studying informatics.
Harry Redknapp gave a youthful Edwards his break behind the scenes in football, recruiting him as an analyst at Portsmouth in 2003.
After a spell at Spurs, Edwards was brought to Liverpool by former director of football Damien Comolli.
Since then he’s rose through the ranks to the summit of sporting director.
During his time at the helm he’s been a pivotal factor in the Reds’ success having raked in massive transfer fees whilst buying wisely.
His magnum opus is undoubtedly selling Philippe Coutinho and using the money to sign Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
