Liverpool allegedly want Marcelo Brozovic on free transfer from Inter Milan

Liverpool are a man down in midfield. The Reds have lost a key man in the middle and plenty of Kopites think he needs to be replaced. Reports in Italy are claiming we could do just that but not for another year. Liverpool are allegedly hoping to sign Marcelo Brozovic on a free transfer.

Who is Marcelo Brozovic?

Born in Zagreb, centre midfielder Marcelo Brozovic came through the youth system of Hrvatski Dragovoljac.

After spending a season at Lokomotiva he went on to join Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.

He impressed during his three years with Dinamo, prompting Inter Milan to buy him in 2015.

The 28-year-old is a hard working midfielder and is noted for his passing as well as his ability to win the ball back.

He’s now made 244 appearances for Inter in all competitions, winning the Serie A last season.

Liverpool want Marcelo Brozovic

This summer the Croatian entered the final year of his contract at Inter.

The Serie A side are believed to be keen on tying their key man down to an extension.

However, Inter Live has claimed Liverpool hope to sign Marcelo Brozovic on a free transfer.

The Reds are said to be keen on bringing him in next summer and are allegedly prepared to pay him around £6m-a-year net.

What RTK has to say

This wouldn’t make a tremendous amount of sense for us.

Given that we’ve just lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer because of his age it wouldn’t be wise to bring in someone who will turn 30-years-old in November 2022.

If we’re going to invest in the midfield then the priority should be Jude Bellingham.

He’s a special talent and he’s just so incredibly young. We would get a decade out of Bellingham but a couple of years out of Brozovic.
