Liverpool fans are wondering why the Reds haven’t been busier on the incomings front. Michael Edwards has only brought the one player in so far with Ibrahima Konate arriving from RB Leipzig. In a boost for Kopites, Fabrizio Romano has said Liverpool are still active in the transfer market.
Liverpool transfer needs
The Reds arguably only have two areas of concern.
Jürgen Klopp needs to bolster the midfield and he needs reinforcements in the final third.
This summer saw Gini Wijnaldum depart from the club and he hasn’t been replaced.
The Dutchman played more minutes than anybody else during his five-year stay at Anfield, we need someone as reliable to come in.
Meanwhile the Reds only have four attackers covering three roles in the final third. We need to add strength in depth as well as competition to the attack.
Fabrizio Romano on Liverpool transfers
The window closes in less than a week and Kopites are growing anxious about the lack of activity.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano has spoken about potential Liverpool transfers. The journalist claimed:
“Liverpool are still active on the market – they are calling agents. If they find the right opportunity, Liverpool will sign players.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool pride themselves on flexibility in the transfer market.
The Reds are allegedly always prepared to make a move if it’s the right player at the right price at the right time.
Whether we’ll see such an opportunity crop up this year remains to be seen.
The boss seems to be content with his squad given that the title winning side is back, only time will tell.
