Fabrizio Romano confirms Real Madrid bid £135m for Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid have bid £135m for Kylian Mbappe, according to reports. They hope to secure the Liverpool target this week.

Fabrizio Romano says Real Madrid have bid around £135m for Kylian Mbappe tonight. Los Blancos are yet to get a response from Paris Saint-Germain, however.

Mbappe has apparently turned down three contract offers from PSG already. That’s particularly noteworthy as his current deal expires in under a year.

Real are presenting the Parisians with a choice, then. Cash-in now for £135m or risk losing the most valuable player in world football for absolutely nothing.

It’s not a choice PSG will have seen coming. It’s also not one that has a right or wrong answer.

Perhaps they still believe he could re-sign. Maybe they just don’t want to bad look of being forced to sell Mbappe.

It’s surely not a risk they’ll take, though. Even for PSG, £135m is an enormous amount of money.

Sky Sports claim an agent is pushing the move, too. He also hopes to send Cristiano Ronaldo the other way in what would be just about the most ridiculous transfer of all time.

Real Madrid make Mbappe bid

There have been links between Liverpool and Mbappe for some time now. The Mirror, to name one, says the Reds want to push for the Frenchman.

And why wouldn’t they? As Liverpool’s forward line moves into their 30s, bringing in Mbappe is their absolute best way to move forward.

Yes, it seems like an improbable signing but Liverpool are surely saving their cash for something.

Mbappe is the biggest statement signing a club can make right now. Mbappe is already one of the world’s best forwards and is still so, so young. He’s a rare world-class player whose value will only increase – especially with the one-year-left discount.

We honestly don’t know how feasible it is for Liverpool. What is for certain is that Real hope to beat everyone to Mbappe and their bid to do just that started tonight.
