Liverpool are thought to be in the market for a forward. The Reds are short of depth at the moment with only four capable players covering three positions in the final third. Spurs are thought to be readying a bid for Adama Traore, Liverpool need to act fast if they still want him.
Lack of depth
The final third is a real area of concern for plenty of Kopites.
Liverpool have just four top quality players to fill in three roles.
A couple of injuries could leave us in a sticky situation.
The lack of depth also makes injuries more likely as players can’t be rotated as often.
Furthermore, there isn’t much competition for places. At the moment there’s something of a battle for the striker role but Diogo Jota appears to have won that battle early and convincingly.
Spurs preparing Adama Traore bid
Our Premier League rivals are also looking to strengthen in the final third.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are preparing a bid for Adama Traore.
The outlet has claimed that the deal could be a loan with an obligation to buy for around £40m.
The move would reunite new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo with the right winger he managed at Wolves.
Liverpool need to move fast for Adama Traore
We’ve persistently seen Liverpool linked with Adama Traore.
90Min recently reported on the Reds’ interest in the Spanish star.
Jürgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the winger, referring to him as undefendable.
If Liverpool do want the speedster then they’ll have to move fast.
Wolves aren’t going to hang about, if they lose Traore they’ll need a replacement so they’ll be hoping to sort this deal out ASAP with the transfer window’s drawing to a close.
Given the player’s almighty potential we’ll be hoping that Michael Edwards puts a spanner in the works for Spurs.
