Liverpool are set to make another sale this summer. The Reds are reportedly close to letting Xherdan Shaqiri go to Lyon, all that is left is the medical. The Athletic has hinted that Kaide Gordon could make his Liverpool senior debut as a result of the move.

Xherdan Shaqiri to join Lyon
Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke in 2018.
The Swiss international arrived with a winning pedigree having lifted the Champions League with Bayern Munich.
He made 63 appearances during his three year stint with the Reds, many of them from the bench.
Understandably he told the club he wanted a new challenge this summer, he is far too talented to be spending every week on the bench.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have agreed to sell Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon for £9.5m.
The move is now only subject to a medical with personal terms already agreed.
Kaide Gordon set for Liverpool debut
Plenty of Kopites will be wondering whether Shaq’s departure will trigger any incoming signings.
The Athletic report that as it stands the club aren’t planning on signing a replacement.
The outlet states that Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon have sufficiently impressed to ease the nerves of the coaching staff.
Given that Gordon is named we can expect him to make his senior debut this season, indeed James Pearce claims that he’s been pencilled in for action in the cups.
What RTK has to say
The Carabao Cup third round takes place on the week commencing the 20th of September.
This means that Kaide Gordon is likely to make his senior debut for Liverpool before his 17th birthday.
Should the boss decide to play the wonderkid in the fixture it’ll be a massive statement about the youngster’s future at the club.
We can’t say he doesn’t deserve it, he looked a live wire in pre-season, we can’t wait to see how he develops down the years.
