Karim Adeyemi should be the next player that Liverpool look to sign from the Red Bull system in RTK’s view.
Many fans would have been watching Red Bull Salzburg’s Champions League qualification play-off with Brondby on Tuesday.
The Austrian side won the game 2-1, meaning a win or a draw in the reverse leg next Wednesday will see them through to the group stages once again.
Since they have won every game since their season started on July 16, including two friendlies against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, we back them to do it.
The biggest take-away from the game against Brondby was another goal for 19-year-old Adeyemi.
He has now scored six goals in five competitive games so far this season.
Given Liverpool’s history of business with the Red Bull clubs, we would recommend that Reds fans keep an eye on the young German this season.
Adeyemi may be perfect for Liverpool
We all know that Liverpool could do with some new attacking signings this summer. However, unless the club offload Xherdan Shaqiri and/or Divock Origi, this seems unlikely.
So, attention will turn to the 2022 transfer window. Next year, the club will have to find long-term replacements for Mohamed Salah, plus one of Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane (Diogo Jota will replace the other).
Considering his recent form, and the club he plays for, Adeyemi could be the ideal solution.
Red Bull’s football group are becoming notorious in the world of finding and developing talented players. It seems like every player that plays for Salzburg or Leipzig is destined for stardom.
Liverpool are aware of that and have four Red Bull products currently in the squad – Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Ibou Konate and Taki Minamino.
This is why we believe that they will be very interested in Adeyemi. In fact, reports last year stated that the club were already tracking him.
Five goals and one assist in four Austrian Bundesliga games at 19 is sensational, while we can also add his Champions League strike to his tally.
His numbers are excellent and we believe that they are sustainable because he plays for Salzburg.
Look at the last two strikers that Salzburg produced. If they deem that Adeyemi is good enough to replace them, then they are probably right.
We don’t need to say much about Erling Haaland, while Liverpool were also linked to Patson Daka before he joined Leicester for £22m.
There is evidence there to suggest that Adeyemi is going to become the next big striker prospect. There is also enough to suggest that Liverpool could be interested in him.
However, they will have to move fast. It is crucial that they get Adeyemi before he joins a “stepping-stone club” and drives his price up.
