Liverpool are shy of a lethal striker. It looks as though the Reds may have to wait a while longer before bringing the right man in. Who we bring in may depend on business done around us. One of our rivals signing wantaway Robert Lewandowski could boost Liverpool chances of landing Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
Lethal striker short
It’s time to upgrade on our number nine.
Roberto Firmino is one of the best in the business at what he does but we need more goals.
At the moment the side is relying too heavily on the numbers Mo Salah is posting, we need an out and out number nine to be a reliable source of goals.
The fact that Roberto Firmino enters his 30s in a couple of months’ time only emphasises the need for evolution.
Lewandowski wants out
This week news broke that one of the best forwards in the world wants a move.
Sky Sports News reported that Robert Lewandowski has told Bayern Munich he wants a new challenge.
The Polish striker, who turns 33-years-old this weekend, is believed to want to join another top European side before his 35th birthday.
According to the Sky Sports report Bayern would want at least £100m for the forward.
Potential Liverpool boost
We should be hoping and praying that a team like Manchester City or Real Madrid are willing to splash that cash.
If an elite side moves for Lewandowski this summer then the Reds will have an easier time landing either Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe in a year’s time.
There is no chance a team can afford to sign Lewandowski and one of the game’s elite young strikers.
Not only is it financially ill advised but it is likely to unsettle at least one of the pair.
Fingers crossed someone moves for the old pro so that we can sign the heir apparent.
