Who is Ilaix Moriba?

18-year-old centre midfielder Ilaix Moriba is one of Barcelona’s brightest talents.

The teenager came through the youth ranks at La Masia after he was snapped up from local rivals Espanyol.

Rising through the age groups he often played against sides much older than him and at 15-years-old he netted a hat-trick against Real Madrid U19s.

A silky dribbler with an eye for a pass, he is very much of the La Masia mould.

The club are in severe financial trouble with club president Joan Laporta admitting the Blaugrana are over £1bn in debt.

This sticky situation has seen Lionel Messi leave the club for PSG with the Spanish giants unable to register him despite the Argentine agreeing to a massive pay cut.

According to 90Min the La Liga club are now open to selling one of their brightest youngsters.

The outlet has claimed that Liverpool have opened talks with the agents of Ilaix Moriba.

However, there is over a dozen clubs interested in the youngster with the Premier League’s ‘big six’ all in contention.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Moriba would be an exciting move.

At 18-years-old he has his whole career ahead of him and what a career it promises to be.

The teenager could go on to be one of the best playmakers of his generation, evidenced by the fact that he played 14 times in the league last season, bagging three assists.

Hopefully this one has legs, he would suit FSG perfectly.
