Belgian football expert Sacha Tavolieri says Jeremy Doku loves Liverpool

Liverpool are believed to be in the market for a forward. Even though the boss keeps insisting that we are done with our transfer business and he’s happy with the squad depth fans are desperate for depth in the final third. According to Belgian football expert Sacha Tavolieri, Jeremy Doku loves Liverpool.

Lack of forwards

Liverpool play with a front three but we only have four players capable of starting in the attack.

Whilst Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi have been used in the attack in recent years neither have provided effective backup to the starting lineup.

This lack of numbers in the final third means that players are run into the ground and there is little competition.

As it stands it looks as though the only competition is between Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, we need further additions to raise competition for places and options for rest and rotation.

Jeremy Doku loves Liverpool

For years the Reds have been linked with one of Belgium’s hottest prospects.

MY 2021/22 PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS

In 2018 Jeremy Doku was in Liverpool with Steven Gerrard and Jürgen Klopp trying to persuade him to join the Reds.

The Guardian relayed how the player’s father was told that the Reds saw the winger as the natural replacement for Sadio Mane.

Speaking to Anfield Central, Belgian football expert Sacha Tavolieri offered an update on the situation between Doku and Liverpool:

“The player is really happy in Rennes for the moment but loves Liverpool and Liverpool loves him from years too…

“I can confirm that the agency of Jeremy Doku has already been in contact with Liverpool. They know each other so if they want to go further, it could go pretty quickly.”

What RTK has to say

Given the history between the club and the player we wouldn’t be surprised if the Reds moved for Doku but we may have to wait a year.

According to Tavolieri, Rennes would want at least £43m for the winger.

As it stands the Reds don’t appear flush with cash, next summer could see more decisive movement.

Furthermore, Doku will have another year of first team football under his belt.
