Liverpool fans were tuned in to see Jarrod Bowen in West Ham’s opening game against Newcastle United today.
The Hammers winger has been linked to the club this summer.
The Athletic have claimed that his name is on a shortlist of players that the club has drawn up as they look to add a forward in the near future.
Jurgen Klopp is said to rate him very highly and is monitoring his situation.
He would certainly have been watching him in West Ham’s first game of the season.
And the German would most likely have been very impressed.
Despite going behind twice, David Moyes men defeated Newcastle 4-2 in a thrilling game.
While Bowen didn’t score or assist, his all-around performance was very promising.
He had two shots, both of which were on target, and finished the game with an xG of 0.50.
He created one big chance and played two accurate long balls.
The 24-year-old was good running with the ball too, completing all three of his dribbles.
Klopp also would have enjoyed his defensive work-rate, with the forward making two tackles.

While he didn’t give an astonishing display that means everyone will be after him, Bowen’s performance will be enough to ease a few doubts that Liverpool fans could have about signing him.
He may not be the most exciting name in the world, but he is exactly the type of forward that Michael Edwards and co. love.
The likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota were not majorly exciting signings either, but they all had excellent underlying numbers that Jurgen Klopp harnessed expertly.
Bowen is in the same boat.
There was one mazy dribble in particular against Newcastle that caught the eye and showed the Englishman’s talent.
He sat three Magpies defenders on the ground as he made his way into the box, but he didn’t quite connect with his left-footed shot, which was saved by Freddie Woodman.
Yes, as we say, there are more exciting players around, but Bowen did prove that he would be a good signing.
What did Liverpool fans think of Bowen showing?
As one of the big Super Sunday Premier League games, many fans tuned in to watch West Ham play Newcastle.
Liverpool fans were keen to watch Bowen after the links emerged last month.
It is safe to say that they were very impressed.
