Xherdan Shaqiri near Lyon move
It looks like Shaq’s time on Merseyside is drawing to a close.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that a Xherdan Shaqiri move to Lyon is nearly done.
L’Equipe has claimed that the 96-cap international has agreed personal terms with the French side.
Now it is just a case of the two sides agreeing on a fee with Di Marzio stating that the Reds are holding out for £6.5m.
Harvey Elliott to replace Xherdan Shaqiri
Kopites have been begging for reinforcements in the squad.
We are light in numbers up top and in the midfield.
Player sales were always going to come first, we’ve already sold Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic.
As a result it’s only natural to think that the departure of Xherdan Shaqiri would trigger movement in the market.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Harvey Elliott is seen as the replacement for Shaqiri.
Jürgen Klopp and his staff have been impressed by the youngster in pre-season with the teenager building on a successful loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last term.
What RTK has to say
We can’t even argue really.
Harvey Elliott has been so impressive in pre-season, he looks more than ready to take on Shaq’s role in the squad.
He’ll be rotated in and out of the team dependent on injuries and fatigue.
The youngster could also make a decent impact sub.
