Liverpool are believed to be in the market for a midfielder this summer. Kopites are hoping for reinforcements following the loss of Gini Wijnaldum. According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are considering a move for Aurelien Tchouameni.
Who is Aurelien Tchouameni?
21-year-old defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni plies his trade at AS Monaco.
The wonderkid is one of the most highly rated prospects in France though he has gone somewhat unnoticed by fans in England due to the meteoric rise of his countryman Eduardo Camavinga.
Before you come for me: I said somewhat unnoticed. I know you’re clever and know everything about football and of course you know about him but not everybody does yet. But they will.
Teammate Cesc Fabregas said that the youngster has the potential to be ‘the complete midfielder’ one day.
Liverpool want Aurelien Tchouameni
Naturally, there is plenty of interest in the youngster.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool are considering a bid for Aurelien Tchouameni.
The outlet has claimed the Reds could rival Juventus for the prodigy.
Apparently it would take around £25m to tempt Monaco into selling the future star.
What RTK has to say
This is exactly the type of deal we should be doing.
Liverpool signing Tchouameni would make perfect sense.
The youngster is only going to get better and better and he already has solid first team experience, last term he turned out 36 times in the league.
At £25m he could prove a bargain buy in a few years’ time and he would go some way to addressing the problem of our ageing squad.
