Liverpool need a forward. Not signing a forward this summer would be a huge gamble. A number of players have been touted as potential targets. One such target could be heading to a Premier League rival. Twitter has reacted to news that Liverpool could miss out on Lautaro Martinez with Spurs agreeing a £60m fee for the striker.
Liverpool want Lautaro Martinez
It’s easy to understand why Liverpool want Lautaro Martinez.
90Min reported previously that the Reds have asked for updates on the Argentine’s future.
The forward scored 17 goals and assisted six last season as his side went on to win the league title in Italy.
Just 23-years-old and full of potential, he is adept at bringing teammates into play and his dribbling ability means he’s able to draw fouls easily.
Given that we’re short on quality in depth in the final third signing Martinez should be a no brainer.
Spurs agree Lautaro Martinez fee
The Reds aren’t the only ones with an interest in the striker.
According to The Times, Spurs have agreed a fee for Lautaro Martinez.
The North London side have allegedly had an offer of around £60m plus add-ons accepted by the Serie A giants.
The move is a massive statement of intent from Spurs.
Either they’re trying to show Harry Kane that they can compete or they’re preparing for life without their talismanic forward.
Fans are growing frustrated. We haven’t signed the attacker we need so desperately and clubs around us are doing great business. This could be an opportunity missed.
