Liverpool are expected to move on a number of players this summer. We’ve already sold a few. One international stalwart in particular could be on his way out. In a surprising development, a report in Italy has claimed Liverpool will let Xherdan Shaqiri go to Lazio for next to nothing.
The Reds always sell-to-buy, this summer is no different.
Michael Edwards has sold Marko Grujic to Porto following a successful loan spell there.
Meanwhile he has also cashed in on Harry Wilson, sending the Welshman to Fulham.
Taiwo Awoniyi has also left the club, joining Union Berlin. In addition, Liam Millar has signed for Basel.
Divock Origi is thought to be facing an exit though nothing is advanced at this stage.
Xherdan Shaqiri to Lazio update
Our Swiss utility man is one expected to leave.
The 96-cap international hasn’t pushed for a starting berth during his time at Anfield and it’s time to move him on.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool could let Xherdan Shaqiri sign for Lazio for ‘almost zero’.
The Reds would allegedly just be happy to have his wages off the books.
What RTK has to say
This would be a shock turn of events.
Liverpool will surely be looking to secure a fee for Xherdan Shaqiri, particularly after his impressive Euro 2020 campaign.
We’re hoping this is just posturing from the Italian press.
The Reds need the money for incoming transfers, we can’t afford to miss out on cashing in on Shaq.
