Liverpool boast some exciting talents in academy. The Reds have brought youngsters in from far and wide to bolster the youth ranks, building the side of tomorrow. One teenager in particular has caught the eye. Virgil van Dijk has labeled Kaide Gordon a ‘special talent’.
Liverpool sign Kaide Gordon
In January the Reds swooped for one of the brightest prospects in England.
Liverpool signed Kaide Gordon from Derby County for an undisclosed amount.
The teenager had been recently handed his senior debut by Wayne Rooney, the ex-Everton striker labelling the wonderkid the best 16-year-old in the country.
Since his arrival on Merseyside the versatile attacker has impressed for the U18s and has even scored on his U23s debut.
Virgil van Dijk on Kaide Gordon
The Reds can also get excited about the old guard.
Our number four is back in action and he’s been speaking to the official club site.
When asked about who has come out of their shell during pre-season, Virgil van Dijk heaped praise on Kaide Gordon:
“There are a couple of new faces around and the young boys. It’s always nice to see the young boys being lifted and coming out of their shells and stuff.
“Kaide Gordon, who is 16 years old, is coming out of his shell, he is training well and is a great talent.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Gordon could do down as one of our best pieces of business.
As Big Virg can tell, the lad has a bright future in the game.
Fingers crossed we’ll see plenty of him in the coming season, perhaps he’ll get some minutes in the cups.
Otherwise we’ll be content watching him dominate at U23 level.
