Liverpool have to raise funds for incoming signings. The transfer window doesn’t last forever so we need to get a move on. According to The Mail, three clubs want to sign Ben Davies from Liverpool.
Centre back roster
The Reds are currently overloaded with centre backs.
This is a rather ironic situation given that just months ago we were having to stick an unproven youngster next to centre midfielder just to field a defence.
Now that Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk have returned to fitness, along with the arrivals of Ibrahima Konate and Ben Davies, Jürgen Klopp has more than enough centre backs.
Surely one or two will be sold before the start of the season with Nat Phillips thought to be pushing for first team football somewhere.
Three clubs want Liverpool star Ben Davies
When the Reds signed the centre back from Preston there were some eyebrows raised, even more when he failed to make a single Premier League appearance following his move.
This summer could see him leave without making a single competitive showing for the Reds.
According to The Mail: Bournemouth, Celtic and Sheffield United all want to sign Ben Davies from Liverpool.
The Reds are said to have rejected a loan enquiry from the Blades.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool selling Ben Davies would be no surprise.
The Reds are stocked with centre backs now and we need to raise funds.
It’s just a case of getting the right deal, if Nat Phillips leave we may well keep Davies.
There’s plenty of moving parts and not much time.
