Could Liverpool be done already in this window? That’s the suggestion coming from a report on Thursday. The fans aren’t happy.
Goal report that Liverpool might be done for this window. Ibrahima Konate is in and that’s your lot – no more transfers.
The money just isn’t there to do more, apparently. There are several new contracts on the table, too, presenting a problem when it comes to recruiting.
It’s a bit of a shock if true. Liverpool lost Gini Wijnaldum this summer and it appears there won’t be a replacement. That was unthinkable a year ago.
Add in Liverpool’s struggles in front of goal last season and not bringing in more attacking depth seems foolish. Not to mention the ageing squad – surely the club need to invest in their future?

And yet, apparently, they’re simply going to wait and see what happens next year. To say it’s a risk is an understatement.
Look, we’ve written before about how this is an option. Pool the money, save it up, and have a run at Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
Maybe another big name star becomes available, too, and that opens further doors. But again, it’s a risk.
Everyone wants those players – including clubs with far more money to offer than Liverpool. And if the Reds don’t get them, then what? Back to square one?
And that’s before considering what happens if all goes wrong this season. If the team has a disappointing season – or another injury crisis that forces one – those star players just won’t be interested.
So it won’t be a surprise to see that Liverpool fans didn’t react well to this report.

If we don't strengthen this year we may miss the UCL bus and then FSG will use that as an excuse again next year for not spending

I don’t think we sign anyone else.

Frustration comes from like of Arsenal and Aston Villa seem to have money to spend and we penny pinch every single transfer window.
So lucky we have the best manager in the world.
I will bet my house on Ox, Keita, Matip, Gomez all being injured for a period of time… Question marks on Van Dijk and Konate has an injurt record. Add that to the African Nations this year, Salah, Mane Keita (Matip?) The squad looks way to thin.

Next summer . What a joke. The team may not be in UCL next season

Ofcourse, we need to fall well behind the other top teams before Klopp gets money to spend.

Now, we have picked out some fairly negative ones here (though, believe me – there are far worse we couldn’t publish) but some were understanding of the club’s position.
What’s clear, however, is that Liverpool are taking a risk. Not just because the plan might fail but because of the incredible backlash if things do go wrong.
