Signing Pedro Neto suddenly feels like a real possibility. Reports out of Germany suggest Liverpool have a bigger chance than they did.
Bild report that the race is heating up for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey. Specifically, a host of Premier League clubs wants the Jamaican.
Aston Villa lead the way, says the report, but both Leicester City and Wolves have eyes on Bailey. And the latter one could mean good things for Liverpool.
Signing Pedro Neto
90min claim Liverpool want Pedro Neto and could look into signing him in this window. Wolves are apparently open to the idea, too.
And no wonder, if they’re lining up a ready-made replacement in Bailey. The 23-year-old is another pacey, direct winger who can be a goal threat. Wolves, like Liverpool, make use of those players.
If Wolves do sign Bailey, the chances of Liverpool signing Neto surely go up. In fact, if the Reds offer more for Neto than Wolves do for Bailey, a transfer makes a lot of sense.
Even if 90min’s report isn’t accurate, we still believe Liverpool should get involved here. Neto is a very exciting talent, even if he is injured right now.
We see superstar potential in him and would back Jurgen Klopp and co. to get it out. He’s still so young and yet already performing well in the Premier League. The sky is the limit.
Usually, this would be a tough signing. Bailey potentially being in the mix makes things easier, though, and gives Wolves a safety net.
The best-case here, then, is that Wolves need the money to get that one over the line. Liverpool can sweep in to be their ‘saviours’ in that scenario, offering up funds for Bailey by signing Neto.
We weren’t sure this one would be possible this summer but this Bild report gives us hope. If Liverpool want Neto, we think he’s there for the taking.
