Liverpool are expected to shift a number of players this summer, they’ve already gotten rid of a few. Jürgen Klopp needs that transfer kitty stocking. Xherdan Shaqiri has made no secret of his desire to join Lazio in the coming weeks.

Liverpool player sales

Thus far the Reds have cashed in on a few fringe stars.

Liam Millar has joined Basel on a permanent deal.

Whilst Taiwo Awoniyi has left the club for Union Berlin.

Meanwhile Harry Wilson has departed for second tier side Fulham.

Marko Grujic has also been sold, the Serbian midfielder has joined Porto following a successful loan spell.

Furthermore, Neco Williams and Nat Phillips could leave with the duo seeking first team football.

Xherdan Shaqiri to Lazio

The coming weeks will likely see further departures.

29-year-old winger Xherdan Shaqiri could be on his way to Lazio.

The Swiss international is pretty nailed on to leave having failed to offer effective depth in recent seasons.

Liverpool allegedly want £12m for their 96-cap star.

The playmaker has made no secret of his desire to leave, Fabrizio Romano relayed quotes from the midfielder:

“I told Liverpool board I feel ready for a new challenge. They accepted my decision and will now consider bids to sell me. Liverpool won’t stop me this summer.

“I’d love to come back to Italy, and I’d like to play for Lazio.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool selling Shaqiri should add a decent amount to the transfer kitty.

Once the Swiss is out of the door we can start looking forward to incoming moves.

We need a striker and a midfielder, hopefully they won’t be far off if this interest in Shaqiri is genuine.
