Andy Robertson is the latest Liverpool star to join the squad’s pre-season training camp in Austria.
Liverpoolfc.com have confirmed that the left-back began his pre-season training on Friday morning after arriving in Salzburg earlier in the week.
Robertson has been thrown straight into the hard work with a dreaded lactate test.
The 27-year-old was late to join up with the squad after he captained Scotland at Euro 2020.
The Tartan Army were knocked out in the group stages after two losses and a draw.
Robertson played his last game on June 22, meaning that he has had almost a full month of a well-deserved holiday.
Robertson arrival a boost to rest of pre-season training squad
The arrival of such a big character will be a huge boost to the rest of the squad.
The Reds have been in Austria for almost two weeks now. They have been away from their families, training hard almost every day.
There is still a fair bit of time to go on the camp, but they will have a change of scenery soon as they swap Salzburg for Tyrol in the next week or two.
It will no doubt be great to see a fresh face. Especially when it is such a lively person like Robertson.
Despite being knocked out of the Euros earlier than Harry Wilson, Neco Williams and Diogo Jota, Robertson has joined the squad after them.
This is undoubtedly due to how much football he played last campaign.
He was arguably the Reds’ player of the season until Christmas. He dropped off after that, clearly because of how many minutes he had to play.
The extended break will hopefully do him the world of good.
Hopefully, Robertson will cement his status as the world’s best left-back next season after a strong pre-season this summer.
