Martin Odegaard story

Back in 2014 the footballing world was wowed by Martin Odegaard.

The Norwegian burst onto the scene as a 15-year-old tearing apart his country’s top flight.

Europe’s top clubs lined up for his signature, he even trained with Brendan Rodgers’ first team at Melwood.

It was Real Madrid who snapped him up. Since arriving in Spain he’s been sent on a string of loan moves.

He impressed greatly at Real Sociedad and has since shown flashes of brilliance at Arsenal.

Liverpool target Martin Odegaard

The Reds appear to have never given up on the Norwegian.

AS reported this year that Liverpool still want Martin Odegaard.

Meanwhile Defensa Central has claimed he would be available for around £51m.

Since then AS has also stated that Arsenal have given up on retaining the playmaker’s services.

Real Madrid open to selling

This summer could end the seven-year transfer pursuit.

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are open to selling Martin Odegaard.

The Spanish side will allegedly listen to significant offers for the Norwegian amid financial difficulties at the club.

Much like their bitter rivals in Catalonia, Madrid need to balance the books this summer.

Liverpool should swoop for Odegaard whilst they can, whilst the club needs to raise funds.

He could provide a creative spark and allow us to return to the 4-2-3-1 we had so much success with when Philippe Coutinho was at the club.

At just 22-years-old he has plenty of time to improve, now’s the perfect time to snap him up.
