Liverpool will look at wingers in the transfer window, according to reports. We look at three who could work wonderfully with the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano told Anfield Watch this week that Liverpool want wingers in the transfer window. It’s a little surprising to hear but assuming it’s true, there are some great options out there.
Here are three we’d like to see at Liverpool.
Gazzetta Dello Sport believes Liverpool are having a look at Berardi this summer. He’s been playing very well at Euro 2020, after all, and could finally leave Sassuolo.
Berardi would be a ‘win now’ option – he’s in his prime years and ready to deliver his best right away. There’s no great long-term investment here, nor is the 26-year-old going to improve all that much.

What Liverpool would get, though, is a guaranteed goal-threat and a top player. This one would be expensive but relatively risk-free.
There may not be a better all-around option than Doku. Not only does he look ready to go right now – if his Euro 2020 displays were anything to go by – but he’s still just 19.
Liverpool reportedly wanted Doku before he joined Rennes, with his father claiming they saw him as the next Sadio Mane (per Het Nieuwsblad). And that’s probably a fair estimation.
Doku would be a magnificent threat from the bench, while he’s ideal to take over as a star once the likes of Mane slow down. The financial crisis in French football means he’s likely available – though, we’re not sure what the price would be.
Okay, yes – Malen isn’t a winger. He’s a striker and a pretty prolific one, with 19 goals in the Eredivise last season and another eight assists.
But we imagine Liverpool see him as an option on the wing. He’s quick, productive and young enough (22) to develop into an outstanding winger.
At the very least, Malen could add a left or right-wing role to his game. That kind of dual-threat could go far in Liverpool’s squad.
Voetbal International claim the Reds are in discussion for Malen. If so, he presents a very interesting project all on his own.
