Liverpool are in need of reinforcements in the middle of the park. The Reds need to replace Gini Wijnaldum following the Dutchman’s departure from the club this summer. We signed him from the Championship and we could repeat the trick. Liverpool could move for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa this summer.
Liverpool and Gini Wijnaldum
Liverpool signed Gini Wijnaldum from Newcastle United for £25m following the Magpies’ relegation from the Premier League.
During his five years at the club the Dutchman went on to become a modern day icon at Anfield.
He played most Premier League games during his stay, rarely missing a domestic tie.
The midfielder also popped up with some vital goals including a double in that comeback against Barcelona.
His reliability and perpetually availability will be difficult to replace.
Liverpool could move for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa
Every day a new potential successor is touted.
The Liverpool ECHO has reported that Liverpool could consider a move for Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa at Fulham.
The 25-year-old Cameroonian midfielder was a standout performer for Fulham during their relegation campaign last term.
A combative ball winner with an eye for a pass he would certainly be able to take on some of Gini’s duties in the middle of the park.
What RTK has to say
We can’t see the Reds swooping for the Fulham star.
He impressed last term but he isn’t up to the standard of Liverpool.
We need to bring in a young midfielder who can offer more offensively than we saw from Gini, a change of system is looking likely.
We’d bite your hand off for Nicolo Barella.
