Liverpool are always on the lookout for the next best thing. We have snapped up a few of them in recent seasons. However, the Reds appear to have missed out on one such exciting talent. Reported Liverpool target Michael Olise is set to sign for Crystal Palace.
Who is Michael Olise?
19-year-old Englishman Michael Olise is one of the brightest prospects in the Championship.
The teenager was a standout performer for Reading last season having joined the Royals following stints in both Chelsea and Manchester City’s academies.
Capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield or as a striker he excelled in the second tier last term.
Last season he finished with seven goals and 12 assists across 37 starts and seven sub appearances.
Liverpool target Michael Olise to Crystal Palace
Earlier this year Eurosport reported that Liverpool had joined the chase for Michael Olise.
The Reds were said to be one of a number of Premier League sides tracking the teenager.
However, according to the BBC Crystal Palace are close to signing Michael Olise after activating his £8m release clause.
What RTK has to say
Crystal Palace have made an excellent signing here.
Olise could prove to be a steal at just £8m.
He has a tonne of first team experience at a young age and he’s only going to get better.
Perhaps the Reds decided that there was no room for another exciting young winger due to Harvey Elliott’s development.
