Liverpool are believed to be in the market for a midfielder this summer. The Reds are in need of reinforcements after a major departure from the squad. One man could be on his way in the near future. Reported Liverpool target Houssem Aouar is allegedly trying to force a transfer.
Liverpool target Houssem Aouar
The Reds are being linked with dozens of midfielders in recent weeks and months.
Back in March, Goal claimed that Liverpool want Houssem Aouar.
The French youngster has previously been touted as one of the brightest midfielders in the game.
At just 23-years-old he is an undroppable member of the Lyon midfield.
This season saw Aouar net seven goals and assist three in the French Ligue 1.
Able to play as a centre midfielder, attacking midfielder or a left winger his versatility is a trait which would attract Jürgen Klopp.
Pep Guardiola is also an admirer, telling Sky Sports News:
“Houssem Aouar is a very good player. He is incredible.
“We talk a lot about (Tanguy) Ndombele, but Aouar is also excellent. He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.”
Aouar missed training
The youngster is looking to move from Lyon according to reports in France.
GFFN has reported that Houssem Aouar has skipped training to force a transfer away.
Whilst the club have claimed that the player is sick, GFFN believe that his absence is due to his desire to secure a move.
The departure of Memphis Depay is said to have played a part in the player’s unhappiness.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Houssem Aouar would be exciting.
Although some say last season wasn’t his best he is still young enough to continue to develop.
The 23-year-old won’t hit his peak for another half a decade or so.
If he spends most of this time with Jürgen Klopp he could develop into a world class star.
