Michael Edwards has established himself as one of the shrewdest operators in the business. The Reds have become envy of the footballing world due to their transfer dealings. This summer could see the club’s best move yet. Liverpool signing Philippe Coutinho for £20m would be a masterstroke.
Liverpool sell Philippe coutinho
January 2018 was a strange time to be a Liverpool fan.
The Reds had just agreed to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton but we all knew something was coming.
The club don’t just splash money like that without something in mind.
Shortly after a move for Van Dijk was agreed we learned that Barcelona had signed Philippe Coutinho for £142m.
Whilst we were gutted to lose the Brazilian star we couldn’t argue with the astronomical transfer fee.
Coutinho exit inevitable
Things didn’t work out for Philly.
The Brazilian failed to establish himself in the Spanish side and soon found himself loaned out to Bayern Munich.
Since then rumours of his exit have been rife with plenty of outlets believing that he’s due a move to put an end to the misery of his time at the Camp Nou.
According to a report in The Mirror, he could be available for as little as £20m.
Deal of the century?
If Liverpool move for Philippe Coutinho for just £20m then it could go down as the club’s best ever deal.
The move would mean a £122m net from the transfer there and back.
Confidence appears to have been an issue for the Brazilian.
We’ve no doubt that when reunited with Jürgen Klopp we’d see the best of Philippe Coutinho again.
It is an absolute no brainer bringing him back to Anfield if he’s available for just £20m.
