Liverpool are expected to sell off a number of fringe players this summer. The Reds are in desperate need of funds and trimming the squad is likely as a result. According to a report, Porto are now interested in Harry Wilson.
Liverpool chop list
There are plenty of players expected to leave Liverpool this summer.
This is largely down to the financial crisis of last summer which meant that a number of stars had to stay put.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi are expected to be on the move.
Neither have provided effective cover for the front three in the past year.
Meanwhile Marko Grujic should be sold after a string of loan moves.
Furthermore, Neco Williams and Nat Phillips are believed to be edging towards an exit in order to find first team football elsewhere.
Porto want Harry Wilson
One player expected to be on the move is Harry Wilson.
The Welshman has been sent on a series of loan moves in the past few years and is unlikely to break into the Reds’ first team.
According to the Transfer Window Podcast, Porto are keen on Harry Wilson with Duncan Castles saying:
“What I’m hearing, what I’m told, is that there’s now interest from FC Porto in [Harry Wilson] and that interest is driven by Sergio Conceicao, the coach who led them to the title last season and provided significant success in the Champions League.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool absolutely have to sell Harry Wilson.
The Athletic believe that the winger could be available for £17m.
If the Reds manage to bring in such a figure then it’ll go down in the books as some of Michael Edwards’ best business.
The Reds need funds to reinvest into the squad, Wilson is going to bring in one of our biggest fees of the summer, these reports make for encouraging reading.
