Midfield gap

Gini Wijnaldum has signed for PSG and it’s absolutely rubbish.

Liverpool failed to agree terms on a new contract and as a result the Dutchman has moved to Paris on a free transfer.

During his five-year stint at Anfield the midfielder became an undroppable member of Jürgen Klopp’s line up.

We can’t rely on many other midfielders to clock as many minutes as Gini did.

Naby Keita is rarely fit and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s fitness has been inconsistent since that nasty injury against Roma.

A new signing is needed to plug the gap in the middle of the park.

Liverpool deal for Renato Sanches almost done

There have been dozens of players reported as solutions to the problem in the middle.

According to a report in the Daily Express, Liverpool are close to signing Renato Sanches.

The outlet carries quotes from Pedro Almeida who has said:

“Renato Sanches to Liverpool is almost done. The Portuguese midfielder will sign for the English club for around €35m.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Renato Sanches for just £30m would be excellent business.

He was once the European Golden Boy, the potential is there.

With the right coaching he could go on to be a world class midfielder.

He just needs the right manager backing him and in Jürgen Klopp he’d have that.
