Atletico Madrid are ready to sell Saul Niguez, according to reports. Liverpool now know what it’ll take to get him.
This comes from La Razon. They claim Atletico Madrid are now ready to sell Saul.
Specifically, they’re ready to sell to Liverpool. The Reds are apparently leading the way for the player and any deal is likely to be with them.
Thus the Reds also know what it’ll take to get the player. They have to pay ‘slightly more’ than Atletico pay for Rodrigo De Paul. The Argentine will arrive at La Liga’s champions from Udinese and they want Saul’s sale to cover the cost.
So if Liverpool wait, they’ll know exactly what kind of deal to make for Saul. It really shouldn’t be much longer.

Atletico to sell Saul
This is one that’s been brewing for a little while. AS reported back in March that Saul wanted to leave Atletico as he wasn’t getting enough game time.
We promptly wrote that Liverpool shouldn’t think twice – he’s a player who fits in with what the Reds want. Nearly four months later, it appears they do have their eyes on the player.
AS claimed as much last week and now La Razon back that up. So we really hope there’s something in this.
Saul is a player Jurgen Klopp could work wonders with and we can’t think of a better replacement for Gini Wijnaldum right now. The Spaniard can cover the flank and midfield, he’s remarkably versatile, and he’s got fantastic experience.
We do wonder what the eventual asking price will be, though. Again, we’ve got to wait and see what De Paul moves for but it surely won’t be anything too extravagant.
And for anything short of ‘extravagant’, we think Liverpool can secure a brilliant signing.
