Liverpool are virtually guaranteed around £12m in transfer funds thanks to Porto, according to reports. The Portuguese side have a deal in mind.
This comes from O Jogo. They claim Porto will not give up on signing Marko Grujic this summer.
Grujic spent last season on loan with Porto. After a very difficult first two-thirds of the campaign, he finally established himself as a first-team player.
The Serbian impressed enough that Porto want him back permanently. And even better for them, Liverpool are ready to sell.
Grujic has been on the books since early 2016 but never truly had a first-team place. It seems the Reds feel now is the right time to cash in.

But there’s a problem, of course. Liverpool have set a price of around £12m but Porto can’t actually afford that right now. They can if they sell players, however, but that’ll take time.
They will continue to make offers and negotiate, though. Porto don’t want Liverpool to get the impression they’re gone off the idea and will fight until the end to sign Grujic.
Porto want Grujic transfer from Liverpool
Porto’s stance here effectively guarantees Liverpool that £12m. The report makes it clear that while they may not have funds right now, Porto will have them eventually.
That could come from selling Sergio Oliveira. It could even mean selling Otavio to Liverpool. Either way, the money is on its way – they just need time.
Porto won’t be the only team with interest, though. A Bola have previously claimed that Hertha BSC – another team that had Grujic on loan – have put in a bid.
It feels pretty certain that one of them will meet Liverpool’s asking price. Either the Reds wait for Porto or Hertha make an offer in order to beat their transfer rivals to the punch.
