Liverpool are expected to move for a forward this summer. After a season characterised by injuries and missed chances adding strength in depth seems the logical response. According to Goal, Liverpool want Pedro Neto but there’s a problem.
Strength in depth up top
The front three have been unchallenged for the past four years.
Not only does this mean they’ve had nobody behind them keeping them on their toes but it also means that Jürgen Klopp has been unable to rest the attacking trio without risking a massive drop off in quality.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi have been effectively the only depth in the squad and the duo have consistently underwhelmed.
Of course, Diogo Jota came in to shake things up last summer but he’s often starred alongside the three or he’s been injured, further highlighting the necessity for further investment in the attacking line.
Liverpool want Pedro Neto
Just what type of forward the Reds will move for is anybody’s guess.
The club could opt for an out and out nine or they could add depth to the wings freeing up Mo Salah to shift centrally.
According to Goal, Liverpool want Pedro Neto from Wolves.
The 21-year-old Portuguese star shone for Wolves last term, stepping into Diogo Jota’s role in the side.
However, Goal has asserted that a move this summer isn’t possible due to the serious knee injury Neto picked up in April.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Pedro Neto would be a dream.
Kopites have begged for his signing following his electric performances last season.
He has a flair which makes him incredibly exciting to watch, he’d shine at Anfield.
Unfortunately his injury has put paid to any move this summer, perhaps next year.
