Liverpool target two more summer signings this summer, according to reports. The Reds have an ideal transfer window in mind.
This comes from Goal. They claim sources at Liverpool told them an ‘ideal’ summer sees the club target two more signings.
The first arrival was Ibrahima Konate, of course. The Frenchman officially arrived from RB Leipzig this month, adding another top centre-back to the club’s options.
And now Liverpool hope for two more players – a midfielder and a forward.

The need for each is quite clear. Gini Wijnaldum left for Paris Saint-Germain this month, creating a hole in midfield. Liverpool will want to bring in someone, given how important the Dutchman has been.
The desire for a forward is different, however. That’s simply about improvement, rather than replacement.
Liverpool struggled badly for goals at times last season. Their reliance on Mohamed Salah was quite dangerous and bringing in extra options, even just for the bench, would improve the squad quite a lot.
Neither Divock Origi or Xherdan Shaqiri offered all that much over the last two campaigns. There is a sense that Liverpool could find someone who adds more.
Funds needed
The other key part of Goal’s report is that Liverpool require sales in order to fund these transfers. Yes, a midfielder and forward would be ideal but the money has to be there for the right players.
The report names who some of those players could be. There are the likes of Yves Bissouma at Brighton or Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa.
Neither would be cheap. Signing Premier League talent never is and Liverpool are setting themselves up for disappointment with these goals.
Unless, of course, they can sell enough players to fund them. The report mentions several on the transfer list – Origi, Shaqiri, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic are among those mentioned.
All would have to go for reasonably high fees, however, if Liverpool are to get their ideal summer.
