Liverpool are said to be big admirers of Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes.
The Englishman is currently recovering from a knee injury that ended his season in February.
It was a huge blow to a player that had been in fantastic form and well on his way to helping Leicester to a top-four spot.
Of course, Liverpool ended up pipping them to that Champions League place. Now, they may be interested in signing one of the Foxes’ best players.
Goal report that while the Reds are big admirers of Barnes, they are likely to be priced out of a move this summer.
However, this could change next season as the club will have to think about replacing their current front three.
Barnes could be the perfect Liverpool addition
The fact that Liverpool are fans of Harvey Barnes is not much of a shock.
He was in phenomenal form before his injury in February.
He scored nine goals and assisted four more in 25 Premier League games in 2020/21.
Liverpool need to sign some attackers this summer, and Barnes would be the perfect solution.
He is young with great underlying numbers but does not perhaps get the attention that he deserves from the mainstream fans and media.
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah or Diogo Jota anyone?
In our opinion, Barnes is set to explode in the coming years. Liverpool’s transfer committee likely agree.
We know that Leicester demand huge fees for their homegrown talents. English players come at a premium anyway, but this is even more the case for a team that do not need money all that badly.
Look at how much they got for Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell.
Liverpool may be able to get someone as good as Barnes for a lot cheaper, but they do need to maintain the homegrown quota at the same time, so might have to spend big on an English talent at some stage.
We are sure that whatever decision the club makes will be the right one.
