In the summer of 2004 Rafa Benitez was appointed Liverpool manager.
The Spaniard arrived with a growing reputation having won La Liga twice with Valencia.
His first season with the Reds was an historic one, the boss led his side to the most dramatic European Cup win in the competition’s history.
Rafa was the mastermind behind the fabled Miracle of Istanbul.
In addition to the miracle, in the years following this legendary victory he also led Liverpool to the FA Cup and to another Champions League final.
However, the boss left in 2010 amid controversies on and off the pitch.

This summer has seen turmoil at Goodison Park.
The Ev lost Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid shortly after the end of the season.
Since then there’s been a scramble to appoint a new gaffer following the disappointing resignation.
Following weeks and weeks of twisting and turning it looks as though Rafa Benitez is the next Everton manager.
Sky Sports is one of a number of outlets reporting that the Spaniard will take over at Goodison Park, signing a three-year deal.
