Liverpool target Pedri

Way back in April The Mirror claimed Liverpool want Pedri.

The report claimed that the Reds are keen but the midfielder would cost at least £70m and the club have made contact with Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo, via the Daily Star, has recently repeated these claims, reporting that Liverpool still maintain an interest in the wonderkid.

Just 18-years-old and shining for club and country it’s easy to understand why the Reds would be interested.

Some Kopites believe that the youngster is the future of football given his experience at such a tender age.

Pedri praised by Emma Hayes

The wonderkid has caught everyone’s eye since the Euros began.

Yesterday afternoon he was a creative force as Spain needed extra time to get past Croatia.

During ITV’s coverage of the game Emma Hayes waxed lyrical about Pedri:

“What a game this guy’s had, Pedri, he pops in those little pockets, he’s almost like a mini Modric.

“It’s his ability to take the ball on the back foot and open up the pitch – I think that’s exceptional.

“It’s not just his vision, it’s his technique, it’s his game intelligence. Look at him, how he’s always positioning himself between players, so clever.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool chances of landing Pedri are slim to none.

However, we can still appreciate the boy’s genius and just how much of a part he’s going to play in the sport.

This lad is going to be massive in the coming years, we can’t wait to watch him develop. Fingers crossed we snap him up a few years down the line but we can’t see Barcelona letting him go.
