Liverpool are going to be selling off plenty of players this summer. The Reds have to raise funds for incoming signings and trimming the fringes off the squad is a great way to do that. According to The Athletic, Liverpool will sell Liam Millar for £2m.
Transfer funds needed
Liverpool are in desperate need of investment this summer.
Last season we saw the Reds derailed by a serious injury crisis.
Depth is needed in key areas as a result. Furthermore, a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum has to come in.
Up top we need to add competition to the front three following a dramatic drop off in output form January onwards.
Liverpool will need to raise money for these signings with FSG always working on a sell-to-buy budget.
Liverpool set Liam Millar price
The outgoings could be gearing up.
According to the Liverpool ECHO, Liverpool have accepted a bid for Liam Millar.
The outlet has claimed that the Reds have agreed a seven-figure fee with Basel.
The Athletic has shed further light on the situation, stating that Liverpool want £2m for the 21-year-old.
In addition, James Pearce claims that New York Red Bulls, Odense, Blackpool and Charlton Athletic are also in the race.
Finally, the Reds are thought to be keen on a hefty sell on clause being inserted into any deal.
What RTK has to say
Bringing in £2m for Liam Millar would be good for the Reds.
Furthermore, the sell on clause would protect us if he goes on to fulfil his potential.
He’s clearly talented, as evidenced by his international caps.
However, he isn’t going to break into the Reds’ first team anytime soon.
