Boston Celtics centre Tacko Fall sent a little message and video to two Liverpool stars this week. The NBA man wanted to show off his skills.
Could Tacko Fall make it in football? Well, he wants to find out. He sent out a video on Instagram with a message for two Liverpool stars.
Fall shows himself doing some kick ups before smashing it into the net and he wants to know if Liverpool could use a new striker this summer. To be fair, it’s all very impressive from someone who is 7ft 5in.
“Yoo [Virgil van Dijk & Sadio Mane],” he wrote. “If you guys need another striker this summer let me know.”
And now we’ll explain who Tacko Fall is.
Who exactly is Tacko Fall?
Fall is a centre for the Boston Celtics – though not someone who plays with any regularity. He’s absolutely gigantic (again, he’s 7ft5 or 226cm tall) but not the most agile or mobile human being.
But being that tall makes you an interesting prospect in basketball and the NBA. Fall has something of a cult following among fans, given his size and the fact he’s just really likeable/fun to watch.
As for why Fall is talking about Liverpool, the answer is pretty simple. He’s from Senegal and Mane is just about the most famous person from their country.
But we can’t see him joining up with his compatriot anytime soon. We’re not sure Liverpool’s high-energy pressing game meshes well with someone who perpetually moves in slow-motion.
At the same time, what a threat off corners he’d be. Trent might need to learn to deliver them a further foot in the air but we’d back him to do that.
Liverpool made Peter Crouch a star, after all – maybe they can do the same with someone nearly a foot taller. We’re completely up for the experiment.
