Liverpool need a striker

Roberto Firmino has been a false nine under Jürgen Klopp.

The Brazilian hasn’t had to score bags of goals each season.

However, last term exposed just how much we need an out and out striker.

At the moment there is too much of a burden on Mo Salah’s shoulders.

The Reds were lacklustre in front of goal from January onwards last term and with each passing week a striker arriving over the summer grew more likely as a result.

Leicester signing Patson Daka

A number of strikers have been touted as the solution to the problem.

The Athletic has reported that Leicester City will sign Patson Daka for £23m.

The Reds had been linked with the striker for months, understandably so given that he netted 27 league goals last term.

According to Zambian Football the striker rejected a move to Liverpool as he wanted first team football and the Reds couldn’t offer the same guarantees as Brendan Rodgers’ side.

What RTK has to say

This is an encouraging side for the Reds.

If Patson Daka wasn’t being offered first team football then he must’ve been targeted as a replacement for Divock Origi.

Therefore, we must be after a more established forward to come in as a starter.

Fingers crossed Michael Edwards has something special planned.
