Liverpool like the look of Domenico Berardi, according to reports. The Reds may move for the Italy star.
This comes from Gazzetta Dello Sport. They claim Liverpool are one of a few clubs considering Domenico Berardi this summer.
The report says it’s increasingly likely that Berardi moves to the Premier League. He’d cost around £43m in what could be a big summer of departures at Sassuolo.
Manuel Locatelli will likely also leave for a large fee – though, possibly to Juventus.
Liverpool to sign Domenico Berardi?
This would be a very interesting signing. Berardi is a top, top player and one capable of delivering right away.
In fact, it’s hard to imagine you could find a much better deal than £43m for Berardi. Especially as Liverpool will likely want a winger this summer.
And the Italian is a very productive winger. He picked up 17 goals and seven assists last season, with 14 and 10 the season before that.
Now he’s at Euro 2020 with Italy where he picked up an assist in their second game against Switzerland. He technically got an ‘assist’ for Turkey’s own goal in the opener, too – though we’re not sure that officially counts.

A move for Berardi depends on how Liverpool want to go about their summer. Are they looking to invest in youth? If so, the 26-year-old isn’t the right option.
But if the Reds want to add another star to their attack and push towards more trophies, Berardi would be a wonderful signing. £43m really isn’t too much for a productive player who’s right in his peak, either.
So this one might be one to watch. Would we expect it to happen? Probably not – the report makes it clear there aren’t actually any offers on the table. This may well just be the usual summer transfer fluff.
But Berardi is undoubtedly a fine example of a star summer signing. If he ticks the right boxes for Liverpool, perhaps it could happen.
