Liverpool are a lethal finisher short. The Reds need to bring in a forward who can start tucking away the chances which are going begging at the moment. Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Erling Haaland according to a report. Liverpool should move for Timo Werner in response.
Liverpool miss out on Timo Werner
Last summer the Reds were Premier League champions, on top of the world.
Throughout the season the club was linked with Timo Werner.
The deal appeared to be an inevitability, the then RB Leipzig striker consistently spoke of his admiration for Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool.
Unfortunately, the financial impact of the pandemic curtailed the Reds’ spending ability.
Chelsea swept in and stole Timo Werner from under our noses, much to the chagrin of Kopites everywhere.
Chelsea agree Erling Haaland terms
Last summer there appeared to be only two teams in Europe unaffected by the financial impact of the pandemic.
Those two teams met in the Champions League final. Coincidence?
It seems that one West London side in particular are happy to just keep spending and spending.
Chelsea have agreed terms with Erling Haaland according to the Transfer Window Podcast.
Ian McGarry has claimed, “personal terms for Haaland are signed off, it’s just a case of Chelsea agreeing a fee with Dortmund.”
The podcast claims that Dortmund’s asking price is around £155m.
Liverpool should swoop for Werner
Chelsea signing Erling Haaland would surely leave them overstacked up top.
Liverpool should use the opportunity to swoop for Timo Werner.
The German endured a disastrous debut season at Stamford Bridge, netting just six goals in the league.
Timo doesn’t fit Chelsea. He is perfect for Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Surely the West London club would be open to a sale if they fork out £155m for Haaland.
