Liverpool are expected to sell a host of players this summer. The Reds have plenty of fringe players to cash in on. The race for one of our midfielders is thought to be hotting up. According to reports, Hertha Berlin have submitted an opening bid for Marko Grujic.
Fringe player fire sale
The chopping block is going to be busy this summer.
The Reds have a number of positions to strengthen, including the centre of midfield and the centre of the attack.
These buys will need to be funded somehow. Michael Edwards will be hastily selling off the deadwood at the club to raise money for incoming transfers.
Loris Karius, Harry Wilson, Divock Origi, Sheyi Ojo, Xherdan Shaqiri and Ben Woodburn are all being tipped for an exit.
Meanwhile Marko Grujic is attracting interest from throughout Europe and is likely to be sold.
Hertha Berlin bid for Marko Grujic
Marko Grujic spent last season on loan at Porto.
The Serbian didn’t see much action at the start of the season but in the second half of the campaign he stepped up and stood out.
He is unlikely to break into the Reds’ first team anytime soon and as a result we expect him to be sold.
According to A Bola in Portugal, Hertha Berlin have submitted an opening bid for Marko Grujic.
The Bundesliga club are said to have offered €13m (~£11m) but the Reds have set their asking price at €17m (~£14.5m).
What RTK has to say
We can’t see Liverpool letting the Serbian go too cheap.
Michael Edwards has to raise as much money as he can this summer.
Discount sales won’t be on the agenda, it’s all about bringing cash in to finance decisive buys.
