Kalvin Phillips v Croatia

This weekend the Three Lions won their opening game of a Euros for the first time in the nation’s history.

Gareth Southgate named a controversial lineup with some fans questioning the absence of Jack Grealish and the use of two right backs.

However, the decisions paid off. England were in control of Croatia throughout.

Phil Foden came closest in the first half with a curling effort hitting the post amid other bright moments for the home side.

The second half saw Kalvin Phillips pick up the ball in space before drifting inside to slot in Raheem Sterling for an easy finish.

Throughout the game Phillips dominated the Croatians. He retained possession well and was sharp in the tackle.

Liverpool linked with Kalvin Phillips signing

In October The Mirror claimed Liverpool hold an interest in Kalvin Phillips.

The outlet reported that Spurs are also intrigued but Leeds United would demand at least £50m for their academy product.

The 25-year-old looked every inch a £50m player against Croatia.

Twitter fans want Phillips move

Kopites took to Twitter to voice their opinion on the midfielder though many were quick to point out that the transfer is a pipedream.
