Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world with supporters across the globe. Some of these supporters grow up to play the sport themselves and that can be handy for us. Joško Gvardiol has said he wants to sign for Liverpool one day.
Who is Joško Gvardiol?
19-year-old Joško Gvardiol is a Croatian defender contracted to RB Leipzig.
The teenager spent this season on loan at Dinamo Zagreb.
He impressed during this spell and earned a WhoScored rating of 7.15 across 10 appearances in the Europa League.
The youngster is in the Croatia squad for Euro 2020 this summer. He’ll be lining up alongside legends like Luka Modric and Dejan Lovren.
Joško Gvardiol wants Liverpool move
The RB Leipzig man only joined the German side in 2020 but he’s already talking future ambitions.
The defender told 24hr Sata that he dreams of joining the Reds:
“From a young age, I watched Liverpool games with my dad and I grew up with just them.
“When I took football more seriously, I started following them, and I definitely want the Premier League and Liverpool move one day.”
What RTK has to say
Joško Gvardiol realistically could get his Liverpool wish in future.
Leipzig are good talent spotters, he could well grow into a standout player.
Luckily for us we know we have the edge of any competition if we do want to sign him further down the line.
Given that he is frequently deployed on the left of defence he could come in to succeed Andy Robertson in the future, we’ll keep an eye on his development.
