Gini Wijnaldum departure

Liverpool are facing a massive hole in the midfield.

Gini Wijnaldum will be signing for PSG on a free transfer this summer.

The Dutchman has racked up more minutes in Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool midfield than any other player.

He has been an immense presence for us since his 2016 arrival from Newcastle United.

A near ever present he has been crucial to the boss implementing his trademark gegenpressing system.

Given how heavily we relied on the 30-year-old we simply have to sign a replacement.

Liverpool bid for Lorenzo Pellegrini

Silly season is well and truly under way.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (as relayed by The Independent), Liverpool have launched a bid for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

The 24-year-old Italian midfielder is thought to be of a similar profile to Gini tactically.

This season he scored seven and assisted six for Roma across 30 starts and four sub appearances.

Corriere Dello Sport has claimed Liverpool have bid £25.8m for Pellegrini, activating the midfielder’s release clause.

This doesn’t seem like the most believable of sources given that more reliable sources such as James Pearce and Paul Joyce have neglected to comment on the player at all.

We imagine this could be the Italian club looking to generate interest with the player’s contract expiring next season, they will likely be looking to squeeze buyers for every penny.

Fans react to report

True or not, some fans would take him.
