Liverpool linked Emiliano Buendia to sign for Aston Villa; Reds missed out?

Liverpool are going to have to bring in at least one midfielder this summer. Just what that midfielder will look like depends on what Jürgen Klopp wants to do with the side next season. Emiliano Buendia stats

For a few seasons now Norwich have relied on their Argentine playmaker.

The right winger has been a standout performer for the Canaries and his most recent campaign in the Championship was a joy to behold.

Emiliano Buendia has posted stats some wingers can only dream of, this term he netted 15 goals and bagged 16 assists.

His domineering performances earned him a WhoScored rating of 7.78.

Liverpool interest in Emiliano Buendia

A year ago, when Norwich were in the Premier League, there was rife interest in a few of their star midfielders.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

The Daily Express claimed that Liverpool held an interest in Emiliano Buendia.

At the time of the rumour he’d picked up five man of the match awards in 24 Premier League appearances, not bad for a player in a struggling side.

Nothing came of the reported interest and now he’s onto pastures new.

Aston Villa signing Emiliano Buendia

It was reported this week that Aston Villa are closing in on a £33m deal for Emiliano Buendia.

The Villains are said to have agreed a fee and there are now only formalities remaining.

Given that the Reds need to sign a creative midfielder, as well as cover for the front three, have we made a mistake letting him go?

At 24-years-old he has plenty of time to improve and could standout with top players around him.

The Reds could have missed a trick letting this one slip us by, he could be a star for Villa next term.
