Liverpool will need to build their second team under Jürgen Klopp in the next couple of years. Some of our key players are getting on and we’ll need to replace them eventually. A new, young figure in the middle could be important. Wayne Rooney has heaped praise on Jude Bellingham, Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the teenager.
Liverpool linked with Jude Bellingham
Last summer Borussia Dortmund signed Jude Bellingham for an initial £25m.
The Englishman went on to have a sterling debut campaign with the German giants.
He made 19 starts and 10 sub appearances in the Bundesliga, as well as eight starts in the Champions League.
Eurosport reported in April that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs monitoring the youngster’s situation but Dortmund see him as a £100m player.
Wayne Rooney on Jude Bellingham
The teenager’s impressive performances this term earned him a place in the England squad for the Euros this summer.
Gareth Southgate showed enormous faith in the youngster by picking him for the squad and it’s fair to say he deserved the call up.
Wayne Rooney has backed Jude Bellingham to impress at the tournament, telling The Times:
“When you watch Jude Bellingham play, it’s hard to believe he is nine months younger than I was at Euro 2004. He has been brilliant in his short England career.
“He could shine at Euro 2020. I don’t think the tournament will faze him. For Dortmund, he has already played plenty of big games.”
What RTK has to say
We can see Liverpool snapping Bellingham up any time soon.
He would be far too expensive but what a signing he’d be.
Fingers crossed FSG will, in the coming years, see the value of signing someone so young yet so talented, we’d be able to get a decade out of him.
