We think Liverpool should contact Real Madrid about Martin Odegaard. The playmaker could leave Los Blancos this summer, according to reports.
Marca claim Martin Odegaard could leave Real Madrid this summer. The club have big Kylian Mbappe-based plans and that may see certain players move on.
Odegaard is one of them, with his position at Real looking ‘vulnerable’ now Carlo Ancelotti is manager. They may well sacrifice him in order to fund a dramatic summer.
And we think Liverpool should pay attention. Odegaard could be a very interesting player for the Reds.
Martin Odegaard to leave Real Madrid?
Odegaard didn’t play all that well for Arsenal over the second half of last season. He was fine but didn’t have the impact the Gunners hoped.

And that’s likely a sign that he’s not quite ready for that level. Liverpool, though, could offer him a spot that matches his ability – and potential.
The Reds aren’t after someone to make them tick, after all. They don’t need a star playmaker and already have a side capable of challenging for honours.
Odegaard, then, would come in as a player who could contribute now but is really for the future. With so many players pushing 30 in Liverpool’s squad, that feels like a perfect match.
Odegaard is still only 22. His potential is fantastic but he needs the right environment and club to help him there. Real Madrid isn’t that club, nor is it Arsenal. Liverpool could be, though.
Jurgen Klopp has a knack for squeezing potential out of players – Odegaard could be the latest and wouldn’t have immense pressure on him. Liverpool could work with him over the next year or two, simply getting him to a place where he can become a key player.
Give the Norwegian a year under Klopp and we have no doubt that he would quickly develop into a much better footballer.
We think Liverpool can offer him what he needs. And if Odegaard is available at a discount this summer, the Reds should ask what he’d cost.
